Back on Tuesday, I answered my first real life reference question. I’m volunteering at the reference desk at our main campus library. The first couple of weeks we’re supposed to just sit back and observe, but it was pretty busy and a lot of the questions were just “Where’s the copy card machine?” so I was helping out. But then there was a real reference question. And I knew how to answer it. Yay! That patron now knows some new tricks to searching the catalog and has hopefully found all the old grammar manuals that she needed. Very satisfying.
In cephalopod news: go see the cool pictures at Pharyngula.
In knitting news: I’ve made it to the ribbing at the top of the first side of the shirt! The bad news: I hate ribbing. The good news: There’s less than 2″ left to this side.
