Awesome weekend.

04 Dec

I had a fantastic weekend! How can you not when you’ve got this mug running (ok, laying) around.

There was lots of shopping and cleaning and even a game night. We played Apples to Apples. I think we converted Shawn from skeptic to fan. Among the shopping treasures there were some new beading supplies, including a make your own jump rings tool, which resulted in these (poorly photographed) all purple stitchmarkers, including purple wire and loops. Fun times.

I finally got around to buying some headbands to cover in fabric. No pictures of the inside cause it’s ugly! (Hot glue on the fly.) But you can’t see that side anyway 😉 I must say I’m pretty darn tickled with it. I love this fabric and it will go with tons of my skirts. I only wish I could have found a cheaper headband. They didn’t have any plain ones at Target and I was in an instant gratification mood.

I also picked up some fabric and a pattern for a skirt. I’m very excited. I’ve glanced at the pattern and there will definitely be much looking up of terms and techniques. I expect it to be a slow process, but hopefully still a success. It will have two layers. The blue will be the bottom layer and the pink the top. I’ve got a favorite skirt that I have in mind, and I know it won’t be just like that, but I also know if I take my time and think it out (not actually my strong suite surprisingly…)

Oh, I’ve been wishing for headbands like those. I’ll also have to keep a lookout for cheap ones to cover – that’s a great idea.

Thanks. There was a tutorial in this month’s Adorn, but I didn’t follow it. I just used my hot glue gun and winged it.
