(a) My brother’s wife did it after the wedding and the other bridesmaid is planning to too after her mom’s wedding (b) face cancer (c) bored
I had a small spot of basal cell carcinoma just to the right side of the bridge of my nose that I had removed via Mohs surgery. My dad had the same surgery on his ear with no complications and it has a 99% success rate of no reoccurrences. It’s local anesthesia and only took 2 hours total, including breaks. They got everything with the first cut and most of the time was spent waiting for the anesthesia to kick in and waiting for the results to come back. I’m all sutured up with my big silly bandage, which I can take off in 24 hours. The stitches come out in 6 days and I may look like someone punched me for a while (which could start as early as tonight or as late as 3 days from now), but in 6 to 8 weeks I should be pretty well normal and in 6 months I’ll have my final cosmetic result. I hate needles and don’t particularly care for the feeling of being sewn up either, but all in all it was not overly terrible. Oh, except for being cauterized. The smell of your own skin burning is not cool and I wasn’t completely numb so for a second it felt like someone had jabbed their cigarette out on me. It’s a little sore right now, but I’m about to go take some pain killers and I’m happy to have sensation in my nose again, even if it is fairly smooshed down from the compression bandage.
It still sucks to have face cancer at 29. Pbbllllll to that!
Then on the way home we stopped at Dragon’s Lair and picked up:
